I did always wonder why you hung up your harness. It’s coming to all us old-uns I guess. It’s both frustrating and worrying when each joint gets more and more painful and less able . The future seems to look bleak when your body is giving you more and more signs of protestation daily doesn’t it?
Great ‘get-out’ plan hatched and I think well executed thus far.

Never sell your climbing kit though , it’d be like taking your old vinyl down to the jumble sale !!
